The Chairman of East Sussex County Council, Cllr Roy Galley, and our MP, Mims Davies, attended the remembrance service in Maresfield to lay wreaths.
Mims laid the official House of Commons wreath at the memorial outside Maresfield church as the community gathered to honour armed forces members who have died in the line of duty. Cllr Galley placed a wreath on behalf of the county council.
Mims Davies MP, said: "It was a huge honour to join & lay wreaths at RemembranceSunday services in the morning at Maresfield and in the afternoon at Uckfield. It was wonderful to join councillors, uniform youth groups and very many members of the public in poignant services."
On Remembrance Day, today, Mims will lay a wreath in East Grinstead to recall the end of First World War hostilities.
Hostilities ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" of 1918, in accordance with the armistice signed by representatives of Germany and the Entente that morning.
