Speaking at the West Sussex launch of a powerful new fostering film Any Of Us, East Grinstead county councillor Jacquie Russell said she had the pleasure of speaking and meeting some of the amazing carers we have locally.
The county's Cabinet Member for Children,Young People, Learning & Skills added:
"You don't need special qualifications to be a foster carer, you just need to CARE. #AnyofUs can do this and we need more foster carers and supported lodgings providers. If you are considering fostering please get in touch with Fostering in West Sussex
The three-minute video has been made in collaboration with over 80 local authorities and Children’s Trusts across the UK. The film is a reminder that each of us has the potential to make a significant impact on the lives of local children.
It doesn’t take superpowers to foster; it takes an open heart, a spare room, and the desire to provide a nurturing, safe, and supportive environment for a young person.
Writing on social media, Fostering West Sussex said: "Thank you so much for your support Cllr Jacquie Russell. It was wonderful to be able to bring together West Sussex County Council Councillors, foster carers and fostering colleagues for the launch of the Any of Us film.
"Such a great atmosphere, underpinned by a determination to work together to encourage more people to start their fostering journey with us."
