There's a new voice on East Grinstead Town Council as young Conservative Edward Godwin won the by-election in Ashplats North Ward.
Edwards grew up in the town and lives locally. At 18 years-old, he's one of the youngest councillors to be democratically elected to represent his electorate.
Speaking of his victory, Cllr Godwin said: "I'm very pleased to announce that I have been elected to represent Ashplats North in East Grinstead Town Council.
"My thanks go to all other candidates for a brilliant campaign. Regardless of how residents voted, I will represent you, and I am honoured to do so."
East Grinstead's MP, Mims Davies, congratulated Ed and said: "Massive congratulations to Ed; one of the youngest new councillors elected to the Town Council. A fabulous new voice. He has worked his socks off during the campaign and will be a brilliant new representative for all."
